King Henry VIII of England took the opportunity of the regency of the Earl of Arran to propose marriage between Mary and his own son, Prince Edward, hoping for a union of Scotland and England. Numerous events unfold leading to Mary’s death in England, and various characters are depicted in this excellently detailed metal themed chess set. The set comes in it’s own presentation case.
